Determine Operating System

EasyGlide

A system that was discontinued in September of 2003. This system uses a continuous cord loop that can be used to raise and lower the shade. After lowering the shade all the way, the shade will begin to raise if you continue to pull the cord in the same direction. 

EasyRise

A system that uses a continuous cord loop to raise and lower the shade. Pulling down on the rear cord will lower the shade and pulling down on the front cord will raise the shade. 

EasyView

A system designed for arches. To close the shade, slide the arch handle to the right. To open the shade, slide the arch handle to the left. 

LiteRise

A system that uses a handle to raise and lower the shade. The handle can either clip on or screw into the moving rail. Note that this is different from Simplicity, which uses a handle that is designed to be used with an extension pole for hard-to-reach windows.

PowerRise

The motorized operating system was used prior to 7/2015. A PowerRise shade will have a programming button on the headrail and will typically be accompanied by a remote that has either numbers 1-2 or 1-4 on it. Sometimes, the Platinum app will also be used to operate this product.

PowerView

The motorized operating system has been used since 7/2015 forward. A PowerView shade will have a programming button on the headrail and will typically be accompanied by a remote with numbers 1-6 on it or a scene controller. Sometimes, the PowerView app will also be used to operate this product.

Simplicity

The system features a large handle designed for use with an extension pole, making it ideal for accessing hard-to-reach windows. 

SkyLift

A system designed for skylights that uses a control knob to operate. This can be used with an optional crank handle or extension pole.

SkyRise

An operating system that uses a looped handle to operate, designed for Skylights and hard-to-reach locations. The looped handle is moved from side to side rather than up and down to operate the shade.

Standard Cordlock

An operating system uses a cord that gets longer when you pull it. This cord may have a teardrop-shaped or a cowbell-shaped tassel at the end. To raise or lower the shade, disengage the cord lock by moving the cord toward the center of the shade. Pull on the cord to raise the shade and engage the cord lock by returning the cord to the original position.

TruRise

A system that was discontinued in May of 2010. This system uses counterbalance weight to control the shade. The shade stays in position when you let go of the tassel.

UltraGlide

A system that may have either a retractable wand or a retractable cord. The wand or cord is pulled at a 45° angle to lower the shade and is pulled straight down to raise the shade.

Vertiglide

A system that moves side-to-side, rather than up and down. Vertiglide may be motorized or it may use a handle.
