Important Safety Note
Only use Hunter Douglas-provided charging accessories. Third-party chargers may damage the battery.
Remove the Battery Wand (if needed)
- Locate the end of the battery wand furthest from the power socket.
- Grip it firmly and use your index finger to pull the wand out of the mount.
- Leave the mount installed and connected to the shade.
- If you're using the single charger, this step is optional.
Charge Using the Dual Charging Station
- Plug the station into a standard outlet.
- Insert the nose of the wand into the charging slot until it clicks.
- The LED will turn red while charging.
- When fully charged, the LED turns green (this may take up to 3 hours).
- Remove the wand from the station.
Charge Using the Single Charger
- Plug the wall charger into a standard outlet.
- Attach the appropriate plug adapter.
- Connect the female end of the charging cable to the charger and the male end to the wand’s charging port.
- If needed, use twist-lock extension cables (3’, 12’, or 13’ retractable).
- A red LED indicates charging. Green means charging is complete (typically 2 hours).
- Disconnect the charger.
Caution: Do not plug the charging cable into the battery mount’s power socket.
Reinsert the Battery Wand
- Align the arrow on the battery wand with the one on the mount.
- Insert the nose of the wand into the mount cavity.
- Push until it clicks into place.
Determine Your Charging Adapter
Charging steps depend on which adapter your shade uses:
- Swivel Charging Adapter (Twist-Lock Charging Cable Connection) = shades built after December 3, 2024
- Magnetic Charging Adapter = shades built before December 3, 2024
Note: Both the Swivel Charging Adapter and the Magnetic Charging Adapter are compatible with the Single Charger, and can easily be switched out if needed. For users with products equipped with external rechargeable batteries and internal rechargeable batteries (IRB), the single charger can be used for both - simply connect the adapter to the charging cable when charging IRB products.
Using the Swivel Charging Adapter (Post-Dec 3, 2024)
- Attach the female end of the charging cable to the male end of the wall charger.
- Attach the plug adapter to the wall charger.
- Plug the charger into a wall outlet.
- Connect the charging cable and swivel adapter. Twist to lock.
- Use an extension pole with adapter attachment if needed.
- Locate the charging port:
-
Inside mount/cassette: Right side, between fabric and bracket. Gripping the head of the Swivel Adapter, pivot it perpendicular to the charging cable. When fully rotated, the adapter head will lock into place.
-
Outside mount/fascia: Right side, facing the room. Gripping the head of the Swivel Adapter, pivot it parallel to the charging cable. When fully rotated, the adapter head will lock into place.
-
Inside mount/cassette: Right side, between fabric and bracket. Gripping the head of the Swivel Adapter, pivot it perpendicular to the charging cable. When fully rotated, the adapter head will lock into place.
- Connect the charging adapter to the shade—charging begins when magnetized.
- The LED turns red while charging and green when done.
Fascia note: A fascia charging adapter must be installed before adding the fascia panel.
Using the Magnetic Charging Adapter (Pre-Dec 3, 2024)
- Connect the magnetic charging adapter to the charging cable provided.
- Attach the female end of the charging cable to the male end of the wall charger.
- Attach the plug adapter to the wall charger.
- Plug the charger into a wall outlet.
- Use an extension pole if needed.
- Locate the charging port:
- Inside mount / cassette: Right side, between fabric and bracket. Orient the magnetic charging adapter so that the rounded feature is facing the room. Attach the charging adapter to the shade, using the top magnets to connect to the shade motor.
- Outside mount / fascia: Right side, facing the room. Orient the adapter so the rounded feature faces the room, and use the charging adapter's side magnets to attach it to the shade.
- Charging starts automatically. LED is red while charging, green when complete.
Note: A small static discharge may occur—this is normal.
Fascia note: Requires fascia charging adapter before fascia panel installation.
