Overview

Battery wands provide low-voltage power for Hunter Douglas window treatments. Options vary by product family and system generation. This guide identifies common wand types, voltage/AA count, key PCNs, and high-level availability so you can select the correct power source or recognize what’s installed.

Designer Roller and Screen

12AA 18V wand; Enhanced End Caps PCN 7520068000 (empty) / 7520066000 (preloaded).
If only a replacement battery wand clip is needed, part number PCN 7520068000 should be used for a high mount, and part number PCN 2920540000 for a low mount clip.
If only a replacement Battery Pack Mounting Kit cover, KIT2791, should be used.

Duette® and Applause®

Before May 2003:
- 8AA 12V Single Barrel; PCN 2981097000 (requires intact bracket assembly).
- 8AAA 12V Double Barrel discontinued.
May 2003–April 2010:
- 8AA 12V Single Barrel; PCN 2981097000 (if bracket assembly is intact).
  - If the bracket assembly is not intact and working, the retrofit should be used. This will require the battery wand to be mounted outside of the shade.
  - Retrofit with the following 12V Battery Pack with Satellite Mount Kit:

Duette® Skylight

Duette® Skylight shades with PowerRise® Motorization (2003–2010): 6V Lithium Skylight Wand and 16AA Lithium Skylight Pack PCN 2980922000 are discontinued.
- Old original style, 6V Lithium Skylight Wand discontinued
- Old replacement style, 16AA Lithium Skylight Battery Pack discontinued
A retrofit is available with the following 12V Battery Pack with Satellite Mount Kit:
- Qty 2 - 12V Battery Packs; PCN 7520069000

Parkland®, EverWood®, Modern Precious Metals®

Before January 2007: Early 4AA 6V PowerTilt packs discontinued; no current replacement parts.

Vignette®

Before May 2010: Replaced with 12AA 18V w/ Enhanced End Caps PCN 7520068000 (empty) / 7520066000 (preloaded), plus power cable PCN 2920247000.
- The existing wand may look like this:
- The new replacement wand is 12AA 18V w/ Enhanced End Caps PCN 7520068000
- Old style, 2AA 18V Double Barrel Battery Wand, discontinued
After May 2010:
- If the shade takes 8 AA batteries, part number 7520069000 should be used. The end caps on this wand have been enhanced since May of 2018 for easier removal to change the batteries, so this wand may look slightly different than an older model but will work the same way.

Rechargeable Battery Options

Launch: July 7, 2020, for PowerView® Automation.
Mounting: Headrail or satellite. Retrofit kits are satellite-mount and available with no cable or 15" / 4' / 10' / 20' extension options.

18V Satellite Pack (May 2010–July 2015): Discontinued; replaced by 12AA 18V w/ Enhanced End Caps PCN 7520068000 (empty) / 7520066000 (preloaded). This part must be sent with the Satellite Battery Pack Mounting KIT2791, along with a power cable: 15-inch PCN 2989899000, 4-feet PCN 2989900000, 10-feet PCN 2989901000, or 20-feet PCN 2989902000.

  - If you come across this old style during identification, it can be opened using the following steps.
    1. Press the button near the wire.
    2. While holding the button, lift the top section of the satellite battery pack.
    3. The top cover will rotate off the bottom section. Note the tab located on the reverse side.

End Cap Styles and Identification

Pre-May 2018: Original end-cap design across several AA/AAA formats.
May 2018–Current: Enhanced end caps for easier battery changes; tubes may look different, but remain functionally compatible with the specified products and PCNs.

Tip: When verifying in the field, the end-cap style + PCN label is the quickest way to confirm the correct wand generation.
