Summary:
Legacy PowerView® Hubs must be connected to the home network to download firmware updates, maintain accurate time and date, and enable the RemoteConnect™ feature.
Applies To:
Legacy PowerView® (prior to Fall 2022)
Connect the Hub to the home network.
Gen 1 Hub: Requires a wired Ethernet connection directly to the router.
Gen 2 Hub: Can connect either wired or wirelessly.
Tip: For smoother setup or re-setup, start with a wired connection so the Hub can immediately download firmware updates.
Keep the internet connection active.
Internet is required for:
Downloading firmware updates from Hunter Douglas.
Maintaining time and date synchronization.
Using RemoteConnect™ for remote control of shades.
If internet is disconnected:
Shades will still operate with the PowerView® Remote.
The app, time/date, firmware updates, and RemoteConnect™ will not function until the Hub is back online.
