Download the PowerView App
Download the PowerView® App by visiting hdpvapp.com on your smartphone or tablet. Make sure the app is up to date before starting setup.
Log In to Your PowerView Account
Once the app opens:
Log in using your PowerView Account credentials
If you don’t have an account yet, tap Don’t Have an Account? and follow the steps to create one
Verify your email to complete setup
Note: A PowerView Account is required to access or set up a PowerView Gen 3 Home. If you skip this step, the app will not detect your shades.
Add Shades to the Home

Once your shades are installed and powered on, follow these steps to add them in the PowerView App:

Tap Get Started to begin setting up a new Home
If you're adding shades to a Legacy Home, tap the Home name, then the arrow next to it, and press the + button

Enter a name for your Home

Choose the primary power source used in the Home (battery wand, rechargeable, or hard-wired)
You’ll be able to adjust this per shade later

Create your first Room
You can pick a name from the preset list or enter a custom Room name

Name and assign shades to the Room
The app will display nearby shades based on proximity
Tap Jog to verify the shade’s physical location
Suggested names like Back, Left, Right, or Side can speed up this process
Repeat this process for any additional Rooms and shades in the Home
Set Up a Remote
After setting up your first Room, the app will ask if you'd like to program a remote.
If you have a remote, follow the guided prompts in the app

If not, tap No Remotes to continue setup without one
As you complete each Room, you’ll be asked again if you want to assign those shades to a remote
Follow the app flow to add additional Rooms and finish remote programming

Set Up a Gateway (Optional)
After your Rooms and remotes are configured, the app will ask if you want to set up a Gateway.

Tap Yes to proceed with setup, or No to skip this step

If setting up a Gateway:
Place it centrally in the Home (or distribute multiple evenly across zones)
Plug it in and wait ~30 seconds for it to boot
The LED will cycle through different colors

In the app:
Select the Gateway when it appears
Use the Flash to Identify option if multiple Gateways are detected

Follow the prompts to connect to Wi-Fi:
If Wi-Fi isn’t available during install, you can skip this step
If you know the network, enter the name and password
Note: If skipped, the homeowner will be prompted to connect the Gateway when they accept ownership.

The app will check Room connectivity. Setup is complete once the LED turns solid blue
Transfer Home Ownership
Once setup is complete, the app will ask if you want to transfer the Home.
Homeowners: Tap Skip This Step to go to your Dashboard

Installers: Follow the app prompts to transfer the Home using the homeowner’s email or mobile number

The homeowner can then invite other users by going to More → Users
