Check for Firmware Updates
Firmware updates improve performance and resolve known issues. Notifications will appear in the PowerView App when updates are available.
- Open the PowerView App.
- Look for a red dot on the More tab.
- Tap More > Firmware Updates to view available updates.
Note: If no red dot appears, try fully closing and reopening the app.
Update Firmware on Shades
- Open the More tab in the app.
- Tap Firmware Updates.
- Tap the Update icon next to the shade you want to update.
- If updating multiple shades in the same room, select Update All.
- The app will update shades one at a time but automatically across the room.
- Most updates take 1–2 minutes per shade.
- If the connection is interrupted:
- Tap Retry to resume.
- Tap Troubleshoot for guidance if retry fails.
- A notification will confirm when the update is complete.
Important: Keep your mobile device or tablet near the shades during the entire update.
Update Firmware on Remotes
- Tap More > Firmware Updates in the app.
- Tap the Update icon next to the remote.
- When prompted, press and hold the Stop button on the remote for about 5 seconds (LEDs will flash).
- The remote will sync and begin the firmware update.
- If the update fails, tap Retry or Troubleshoot.
- A success message will appear when the update is complete.
Tips for Updating Multiple Shades or Rooms
Use these tips to manage long update sessions:
Option 1: Finish Home Setup First
- During initial setup, skip firmware prompts until setup is complete.
- Then go to More > Firmware Updates, and use Update All for a room.
Option 2: Use Multiple Devices
- Use more than one phone or tablet to update shades in separate rooms.
- Each device can update its assigned room simultaneously.
Note: Do not use multiple devices to update shades in the same room.
