Summary:
A Legacy PowerView® Hub must stay connected to the home network to download firmware updates, keep time and date accurate, and enable RemoteConnect™.

Legacy PowerView® (prior to Fall 2022)
Connection type depends on hub generation.
Gen 1 Hub: Requires a wired Ethernet connection directly to the router.
Gen 2 Hub: Can connect wired or wirelessly.
Tip: For initial setup or re-setup, a wired Ethernet connection is recommended so the Hub can immediately download firmware updates.
Active internet is required for key functions.
Downloading and installing firmware updates.
Maintaining time and date synchronization.
Using RemoteConnect™ for remote shade control.
If internet is disconnected:
Shades can still operate locally with the remote.
App features, time/date, and RemoteConnect™ will stop working until the Hub is reconnected.
