Learn how to replace the motor in Duette® and Applause® Honeycomb Shades with PowerView® Gen 3 Automation. This guide applies to standard Bottom-Up, Top-Down, and Top-Down/Bottom-Up configurations, including Duolite® options.

Preparation
Motor Replacement Steps
2. Remove the Clutch Lock and End Cap
3. Access the Motor Assembly
4. Disconnect the Old Motor
5. Prepare and Install the New Motor
6. Reassemble the Shade
What You’ll Need
PowerView® Gen 3 replacement motor
Screwdriver
Allen wrench
New motor assembly with cable and clip
Remove the Clutch Lock and End Cap
Use a screwdriver to remove the clutch lock on the side of the shade.

While holding the motor cable, press the control feature on the back of the headrail and remove the end cap.

Access the Motor Assembly
Slide the headrail away from the end of the shade to expose the motor.

Slide the motor assembly toward the spring assist (see red arrow).
You do not need to remove the spring assist.

Disconnect the Old Motor
Use a screwdriver to remove the motor from the fabric stack.
Unclip and remove the cable and cable clip from the motor (see red arrow).

Check for the fabric lock pin:
Make sure it is still in the filler strip (see green circle).
Tip: The pin can sometimes get stuck in the bottom of the old motor.

Prepare and Install the New Motor

Check the position of the quiet drive shaft on the new motor (see red arrows).
Use the Allen wrench to turn and align the drive shaft with the V-shaft opening.

Connect the cable and clip to the new motor before inserting it (see red arrow).
Insert the quiet drive into the V-shaft.
Press down to seat the motor into the filler strip.

Reassemble the Shade
Slide the headrail back toward the end of the shade.

On the end cap:
Make sure the control button feature is pushed forward.
Place the motor cable into the cable clip inside the end cap.
Snap the end cap into the headrail.

Check that the control button clicks when pressed.
Reinsert the clutch lock and lock it into position.
If the shade is Top-Down/Bottom-Up or Duolite®, repeat these steps on the left side.
