Summary:
Replace the battery wand on a Silhouette® or Nantucket™ PowerRise® shade manufactured between 2000 and May 2010.

Confirm Compatibility
Silhouette® and Nantucket™ PowerRise® changed to a barrel-style battery wand connection after May 2010.
The discontinued AA and AAA wands used prior to 2010 can be replaced using KIT9112.
KIT9112 includes all required parts for conversion and can be ordered at parts.hunterdouglas.com.
Conversion is only possible on shades manufactured in 2000 or later.
Gather Kit and Tools
KIT9112 battery wand conversion kit
8 AA alkaline batteries
Flathead screwdriver
Remove Shade
Remove the shade from the installation brackets.
Disconnect Plug
Locate the current plug connected to the back of the motor cartridge.
Disconnect the plug from the motor.
Remove Battery Wand Bracket
Remove the current battery wand bracket from the headrail.
Turn the shade around and look into the headrail to locate the release tab.
Insert a flathead screwdriver into the tab.
Push and twist until the bracket releases from the headrail.
Repeat for both brackets.
Caution: Take care not to damage the fabric during this process.
Install Cable Assembly
Locate the cable assembly from KIT9112.
Line up the groove on the plug in the shade with the groove on the back of the cartridge of the cable assembly.
Push the cartridge into the plug until firmly seated.

Install New Battery Wand Brackets
Locate both rear mount battery brackets from KIT9112.
Attach them to the back of the headrail near the motor end of the shading.
Place the brackets no more than 6” apart.
Ensure bracket placement does not interfere with installation brackets.
Install New Battery Wand
Insert 8 AA alkaline batteries into the new wand.
Attach the wand to the rear mount battery brackets with the socket facing the motor end.
Plug the power cable into the socket on the wand.
Reinstall Shade
Reinstall the shade into the installation brackets.
