Recommended Limit Per Remote
To ensure responsive and reliable performance, the PowerView® remote should be programmed to control no more than twelve shades at a time.
While it’s technically possible to add more than twelve shades, doing so may result in delayed or inconsistent operation — especially when using the ALL button to send commands to every shade at once.
What Happens With Larger Groups
When you press a command on the remote (such as Open, Close, or a Favorite position), the remote must:
Individually connect to each shade in the group
Send the signal
Wait for confirmation before moving on to the next one
As more shades are added to the group, the remote needs more time to establish connections, which increases the delay between button press and shade response. In some cases, this delay may cause:
Partial response (some shades move, others don’t)
Shades responding out of sync
Missed commands entirely
How to Adjust Your Setup
If you're experiencing inconsistent response times:
Limit the number of shades paired to each remote to twelve or fewer.
Consider splitting your shades into smaller groups across different group buttons on the remote.
Avoid using the ALL button when controlling large numbers of shades at once.
If you need to automate many shades simultaneously, use the PowerView App with a scene.
Note: The PowerView App and Gateway can trigger more shades at once than the remote, and it’s the preferred option for whole-home automation.
