Summary: Without a Gateway, Scene commands in the PowerView® App may activate shades in a staggered sequence. This article explains why and how a Gateway resolves the issue.
Applies To: PowerView Gen 3, PowerView App, Gateway, Scene control, Hembar alignment
Hembar alignment refers to shades beginning movement at the same time to maintain a uniform appearance.
When using PowerView Gen 3 without a Gateway:
- The PowerView App can trigger only 4 shades at once.
- If a Scene contains more than 4 shades, the app sends the command in staggered groups of 4.
- The 4 shades chosen to move together are selected at random.
If using a PowerView Remote (no Gateway):
- The system can broadcast to up to 12 shades simultaneously. However, alignment may still vary.
When using a Gateway:
- Hembar alignment is fully supported.
- All shades within the same room activate together when a Scene is triggered.
Tip: For synchronized movement in larger Scenes, ensure your system includes a PowerView Gateway.
