Use this article for instructions on the Shade Replacement feature in the PowerView App. Use this feature if you are replacing a shade that was previously added to a Gen 3 Home.

The PowerView® App includes a Shade Replacement feature for PowerView Gen 3 shades. This feature can be used to replace an entire shade that was previously added to a Gen 3 Home. Using Shade Replacement allows you to keep Scenes, Schedules, Room assignments, shade names, and basic limit information.
Note: Do not delete the original shade from the PowerView App or press and hold the control button on the original shade’s headrail to reset the shade prior to using Shade Replacement.
Shade Replacement Steps
- Remove power from the original shade and remove the shade from the window.
- Install the new shade in place of the original shade.
- With the PowerView App open, press and hold the control button on the new shade’s headrail for about 5 seconds until an amber LED turns on.
- Select Configure Shade.
- You will then be prompted to choose between “Motor Configuration” and “Shade Replacement." Select Shade Replacement.
- Follow the guided steps in the app to confirm which shade is being replaced.
- Follow the prompts in the app to continue and sync the shade.
- Follow the prompts in the app to reprogram the remote.

Adjust custom shade limits if needed. Navigate to More → Shades → select the shade → Shade Settings → Advanced Options → Modify Shade Limits.
