Summary:
PowerView® Gen 3 Automation is now available for operable arches and angled Duette® and Alustra® Duette Honeycomb shades. This feature allows users to automate movement for specialty shapes, offering enhanced control in tall or architectural windows where manual reach is limited or impossible.
Applies To:
Duette®, PowerView® Gen 3
System Behavior and Movement
- Automated Traverse Only - These shades do not have a manual override. All movement is controlled through the PowerView® App, remote, or automated Schedules.
- Split-Speed Motion (for Angled Shades with Rectangular Sections) - If an angled section is paired with a lower rectangular section to create an extended angle shade:
-
- The rectangular portion travels at full speed
- The angled portion moves at half speed
- Once the rectangular section closes, the angled section finishes its motion. This behavior is intentional and not adjustable
- Smooth Glide & Quiet Operation - Shades initiate and complete movement with a controlled gliding effect to protect fabric integrity and preserve alignment at the narrowest points of the shape.
- Light Gap Coverage
-
- Headrail Extender End Caps are included to help reduce light gaps at corners for angled shades, enhancing performance in specialty applications.
Charging and Power Information
- Battery-Only Compatibility - PowerView Gen 3 Arches and Angles support all powered options except Headrail Mounted Battery Wand for PowerView Angles due to the mounting depth required.
-
- PowerView Gen 3 Arches and Angles are available with the new internal rechargeable battery option, allowing for reduced mounting depth requirements in specialty shape windows.
- Motor Side – The motor and power cable will always be oriented on the right side of the shade for PowerView Angles. The motor and power cable will always be oriented on the left side of the shade for PowerView Arches.
- Charging Notes
-
- The Specialty Shapes Charging Clip is required for charging operable specialty shapes shades with the internal rechargeable battery. It supports the weight of the charging cable assembly when charging in place.
- Snap the charging clip onto the swivel charging adapter. Then connect the swivel charging adapter to the magnetic charging port on the shade headrail. Finally, attach the specialty shapes charging clip onto the headrail. Examples pictured below.
| Arch | Angle |

| On arches, the swivel charging adapter will connect upside-down, to match the orientation of the charging port. | The charger’s LED (located at the power outlet) will turn red to indicate that the battery is charging; It will turn green when the battery is fully charged. |
