Reset the Top and Bottom Limits for All Non-Roller Shades
If your shade doesn't stop in the correct location, resetting the limits may help restore the original factory settings. These limits are pre-programmed during manufacturing. If needed, you can try a recalibration by following the steps below:
- Press and hold the manual button on the headrail for about six seconds until the shade jogs (moves slightly).
Note: The manual button is typically located on the left or right side of the headrail, below the headrail, or on a satellite eye. - Release the manual button.
- Operate the shade to test the limit.
Adjust the Top Limit for Roller Shades Manufactured Before September 2012
If your roller shade doesn’t open fully, resetting the top limit helps ensure it raises to the correct position every time. If needed, follow the steps below to recalibrate.
- Verify that the shade is functioning properly, and lower it about 18".
- Press and hold the manual button for about 12 seconds until the shade jogs twice. Release after the second jog.
- Reprogram the shade to the remote (see Operate and Program PowerRise® Remote for details).
- Raise the shade to its highest position to set the hardstop top limit.
- Using a paperclip, press the setup button on the back of the remote. The LED will flash green.
- Point the remote at the infrared receiver on the shade and press the Up/Open button. A red light will appear in the motor cartridge.
- Within three seconds, press and release the manual button on the shade. The red light will turn off and the shade will jog.
- Press the Setup button on the back of the remote again to exit setup mode.
- Lower the shade completely to finalize limits.
Adjust the Bottom Limit for Roller Shades Manufactured Before September 2012
If your roller shade doesn't lower to the desired position, adjusting the bottom limit helps it stop at the same consistent point each time. If needed, follow the steps below to recalibrate.
- Verify that the shade is functioning properly, then lower the shade completely.
- Measure from the bottom of the shade to the desired stop point (nearest ⅛").
- Press and hold the manual button for about six seconds until the shade jogs.
- Raise the shade about 6" to allow for adjustment.
- Push the drop adjustment lever in slightly, then pull down.
- Rotate the adjustment wheel the required number of teeth (½" per tooth) to match the measured distance.
- Push the lever back into the closed position.
- Lower the shade completely and verify the new stop point.
- Fully raise and lower the shade to save the new limits.
Adjust the Top Limit for Roller Shades Manufactured After September 2012
If your roller shade doesn’t raise to the correct position, resetting the top limit helps ensure it always opens fully and stops at the correct height. If needed, follow the steps below to recalibrate.
- Verify that the shade is functioning properly, and lower it about 18".
- Press and hold the manual button for about 12 seconds until the shade jogs twice. Release after the second jog.
- Reprogram the shade to the remote (see remote programming instructions).
- Raise the shade to the full up position to set the upper limit.
- Lower the shade to the desired bottom limit. Be careful not to let the shade roll up backwards.
Note: Steps 5–8 must be completed within 30 seconds. Review all steps before starting.
- Using a paperclip, press and release the programming button on the back of the remote or wall switch. The LED will flash green.
- Point the remote at the receiver eye and press and release the Up button.
- Press and release the manual button on the shade.
- Press the programming button again to exit programming mode.
- Verify shade operation.
Adjust the Bottom Limit for Roller Shades Manufactured After September 2012
If your roller shade doesn’t stop where you want it when closing, resetting the bottom limit helps it lower to a consistent, desired position. If needed, follow the steps below to recalibrate.
- Verify that the shade is functioning properly, and lower it about 18".
- Press and hold the manual button for about 12 seconds until the shade jogs twice. Release after the second jog.
- Reprogram the shade to the remote (see remote programming instructions).
- Raise the shade to the full up position to set the upper limit.
- Lower the shade to the desired bottom limit. Avoid rolling the fabric backward.
Note: Steps 5–8 must be completed within 30 seconds. Review all steps before starting.
- Using a paperclip, press and release the programming button on the remote or wall switch. The LED will flash green.
- Point the remote at the receiver and press and release the Down button.
- Press and release the manual button on the shade.
- Press the programming button again to exit programming mode.
- Verify shade operation.
