How to change your PowerView® account email by creating a new account and updating your hub registration.
Applies To:
Legacy PowerView® (prior to Fall 2022)
You may need to update your PowerView® account email if:
You no longer have access to the original email address.
You want to register the account under a new email address.
An installer registered the hub to their own account and you want to register it to yours.
You purchased a home with a hub still registered to the previous homeowner.
Important: The email address cannot be changed in an existing account. Instead, you must create a new account and re-register the hub.
Update Your Account Email
Sign out of the old PowerView® account.
Create a new PowerView® account using your preferred email. Verify the account through the confirmation email.
Sign in to the PowerView® App with your new account.
Unregister the hub from the old account:
Go to More > Accessories > Hubs.
Select your hub, then tap the email address it’s registered to.
Choose Unregister Hub.
Register the hub to your new account by selecting Register Hub.
Your hub is now associated with the updated email account.
Smart Home Integration Notes
Amazon Alexa
Disable the PowerView Scenes Skill and re-enable it to connect your new account.
Delete existing scenes in the Alexa app first to avoid duplicates.
Google Assistant
Disable the PowerView Scenes Action and re-enable it.
Scenes from the old account will be removed automatically when the Action is disabled.
IFTTT
Disconnect the old PowerView® account and reconnect with the new one.
Recreate any Applets for the new account.
Delete old Applets to prevent confusion.
Other Systems
Apple HomeKit, Logitech, Control4®, Crestron®, Elan®, Savant, and URC® are not account-dependent or cloud-based. No changes are required.
