General Information
When a Solera® shade opens, it stops at an electronic top limit just below its hard stop. This limit controls how high the shade travels when fully opened. In some cases, the default setting may cause the bottom rail to press too tightly into the headrail or misalign with surrounding shades.
You can adjust the top limit for cosmetic alignment and comfort, or clear it entirely to restore the factory hard stop.
Before You Begin:
- Make sure the shade was manufactured after the date noted in the instructions.
- Confirm the shade is joined to the remote you’re using.
- Replace the remote batteries if the lights do not blink during programming.
- If needed, run a six-second calibration to test the shade’s full range (hold the programming button until the shade jogs and cycles).
Set a Custom Top Limit
Use this process if the shade docks too tightly, misaligns with trim, or needs to match side-by-side shades.
- Run the shade to its current top limit.
- Make sure no group numbers are selected on the remote.
-
Press and hold the programming button on the window treatment.
- Important: Do not hold for more than five seconds.
- While holding the button, press and release OPEN on the remote.
- Release the programming button.
- The shade will jog to confirm the top limit has been cleared.
- Use OPEN, STOP, and CLOSE on the remote to move the shade to the desired top limit.
-
Press and hold the STOP button on the remote for about six seconds until the indicator lights blink.
- This puts the remote in programming mode.
-
Press and hold the programming button on the window treatment again.
- While holding it, press and release OPEN on the remote.
- Release the programming button.
- The shade will jog to confirm the new top limit has been set.
- Press and hold STOP again until the remote’s indicator lights stop blinking to exit programming mode.
- Test the shade by opening it fully to confirm the new top limit is working correctly.
Clear the Electronic Top Limit
Use this process to remove a custom top limit and return the shade to its original hard stop.
- Run the shade to its current top limit.
- Make sure no group numbers are selected on the remote.
-
Press and hold the programming button on the window treatment.
- While holding it, press and release OPEN on the remote.
- Release the programming button.
- The shade will jog to confirm the top limit has been cleared.
- Important: Do not hold the button for more than five seconds, or the shade will recalibrate.
-
Press and hold the programming button again for six seconds.
- The shade will jog and begin a calibration sequence.
- Allow the shade to travel through its full range without interruption.
- This will reset the top limit to the original hard stop position.
