Uninstall Your Shade
If you need to uninstall your shade to replace brackets or for any other reason, you’ll need to safely remove it from the headrail by following these steps:
- Fully raise the shade.
- While supporting the headrail, insert a flathead screwdriver behind the locking tab on the bracket.
- Push up and twist the screwdriver to release the shade from the mounting bracket.
- Pull the headrail forward to remove it from the bracket.
Note: On longer shades, you may need to lower the fabric slightly to access the locking tab.
Caution: Be careful not to damage the fabric during removal.
Need to replace a bracket? Use part number #KIT9205 to place an order at parts.hunterdouglas.com. For an extension bracket, use part number #KIT2013.
Adjust Bottom Rail Weight
If the shade rolls unevenly or the bottom rail appears crooked when fully raised, you can adjust the internal weight to rebalance the fabric.
- Locate the weight clips on the back of the bottom rail.
- Push up on the weight clips to release them.
- Slide the weight in 1-inch increments toward the side where the fabric is gathering.
- Lower the shade completely and check for level.
- If needed, repeat adjustment.
- Once satisfied, lock the weight clips back into place.
Important: If the shade is tilted when fully raised, do not pull harder on the cord loop—this may worsen the imbalance
Attach Universal Cord Tensioner
- Slide the cord tensioner to the bottom of the cord loop.
- Insert a small screwdriver or similar tool through the screw hole at the base.
- Move the screw hold-down tot to the indicator line to release the safety mechanism.
- Secure the tensioner at the bottom of the loop per the Universal Cord Tensioner Installation Kit.
Caution: The shade will not operate unless the cord tensioner is secured. Proper installation is critical to reduce child-strangulation risk.
Repair Service Eligibility
Vignette® Rolling EasyRise™ shades support a few basic repairs at home. You can replace brackets, reinstall or replace the cord tensioner, adjust the bottom rail weight, or remove the shade for service.
Other repairs, such as cord loop replacement, clutch issues, or fabric problems, are not supported as in-home repairs and will need to be serviced by a professional. If the cord tensioner has moved or the cord slips, check that it is securely mounted. Please note that parts and repairs are no longer supported for Top-Down/Bottom-Up shades manufactured between May 2013 and April 2018.
