When to Adjust Shade Limits
- The shade stops too high or too low from your desired position
- The bottom rail docks too tightly or floats above the sill
- Top-down rail has slack or visible tension issues
- Limits are inconsistent across adjacent window treatments
Before You Begin
- Confirm the product type and manufacture date match the instructions
- Ensure the remote is joined to the shade
- Perform a 6-second calibration reset (hold programming button until the shade jogs and cycles)
- Enter programming mode (hold STOP for 6 seconds until lights blink)
- Replace remote batteries if lights don’t blink
Set or Adjust Top Limit
Rolling and Duolite Manufactured After April 17, 2018
Stacking Manufactured After September 8, 2020
- Use the remote to press the group button (1-6) that the shade is joined to.
- Press and hold the programming button on the window treatment for up to five seconds. While holding it, press and release the OPEN button on the remote, then release the programming button on the window treatment.
- The window treatment will move to the top limit, if it's not already there. The LED on the programming button will turn solid red, indicating the window treatment is in fine adjustment mode. Once in fine adjustment mode, you have one minute to move the shade to the new limit position (steps 5-8). If the shade does not receive a movement command within one minute of going into fine adjustment mode, the shade will automatically revert back to the previous limit position.
- Use the OPEN, STOP, and CLOSE buttons on the remote to position the window treatment at the desired top limit. While in fine adjustment mode, it will move slowly.
- To enter programming mode, press and hold the STOP button on the remote for about six seconds until the indicator lights start blinking. Ensure no group numbers are selected on the remote. The remote should continue to blink in programming mode as you proceed to step 6.
- Press and hold the programming button on the window treatment for up to five seconds. While holding it, press OPEN on the remote, then release the programming button on the window treatment. The window treatment will jog to confirm the new top limit, and the red LED will turn off. For window treatments manufactured after October 14, 2019, you do not need to press the programming button on the window treatment during this step. Instead, you would simply press and release OPEN on the remote to set the limit.
- Press and hold STOP on the remote until the indicator lights stop blinking (approximately six seconds), or let the remote time out (approximately 20 seconds).
- Operate the window treatment to confirm the new top limit position has been set successfully.
Note: This video shows the process on a Designer Roller Shade, but the steps will be the same for a Vignette shade.
