Identify if This Is Your Product
Easy Glide shades were introduced more than twenty years ago and are no longer manufactured. Before attempting a repair, confirm that your shade matches this operating system. This installation guide provides more details.
Replace Cord Loop
If the cord loop is frayed or broken, replacing it will restore proper shade operation. This is the only approved in-home repair for Easy Glide.
Before you begin:
- The cord shown is for right control. If your shade is left control, reverse the starting side.
- Ensure the hole in the cord tensioner is positioned toward the rear.
- Push back on the headrail to release it from the bracket, then pull down and forward to remove the shade.
- Insert the cord loop between the first two gear teeth next to the top cord channel.
- Rotate the clutch to pull more cord between the gear teeth.
- Confirm the cord exits the clutch through the bottom channel.
- Hook the top of the clutch cover first, then snap the bottom into place.
- Check that the cord moves freely after reassembly.
Repair Service Eligibility
Easy Glide shades are no longer eligible to be sent in for repair because the original parts are obsolete. The only in-home repair is a cord loop replacement.
