Uninstall Your Shade
If you need to uninstall your shade to replace brackets or for any other reason, you’ll need to safely remove it from the headrail by following these steps:
- Fully raise the shade.
- While supporting the headrail, insert a flathead screwdriver behind the locking tab on the bracket.
- Push up and twist the screwdriver to release the shade from the mounting bracket.
- Pull the headrail forward to remove it from the bracket.
Note: On longer shades, you may need to lower the fabric slightly to access the locking tab.
Caution: Be careful not to damage the fabric during removal.
Need to replace a bracket? Use part number #KIT9205 to place an order at parts.hunterdouglas.com. For an extension bracket, use part number #KIT2013.
Attach or Adjust Tassel
Use these steps if your tassel has come apart or the cord length needs adjustment. This style includes a two-piece design with a separate cover and outer body that snap together.
Insert the tassel cord through the hole in the top of the tassel cover (opaque piece).
Tie a knot at your desired cord length, then pull the knot inside the cover.
Trim the cord if needed.
Place the tassel body around the cover.
Squeeze the sides of the tassel cover together while sliding it into the tassel body until it clicks.
Tip: After reassembling, ensure the tassel is secure and the pieces don’t separate easily.
To Adjust Tassel Length
Grip both pieces of the tassel and gently separate them.
Slide the cover off and untie the knot.
Repeat the steps above to retie and reinstall at a new length.
Need to order this tassel? Go to parts.hunterdouglas.com, and search for "Tassel Cover" to pick an available color, along with the clear Tassel Body #2931556000.
Adjust Bottom Rail Weight
If the bottom rail is uneven or the fabric rolls crookedly into the headrail, you may need to adjust the bottom rail weight.
- Locate the weight locks on the back of the bottom rail.
- Insert a flathead screwdriver and rotate each lock upward toward the center of the rail to release.
- Slide the weight 1 inch at a time toward the side where the fabric is gathering.
- Test the shade by raising and lowering.
- Once even, rotate each lock downward toward the outer edges to secure.
Note: Leave at least 1 inch of overlap between the lock and the weight for stability.
Repair Service Eligibility
Shades sent to a Hunter Douglas repair facility will be restored to their original configuration and will remain a cord-operated UltraGlide® system. Rolling 2-on-1 shades are no longer eligible for repair due to safety concerns and will not be converted to or from this option.
