Summary: Learn how to improve closure performance on Duette® Honeycomb Shades with EasyView® Arch by adjusting cord tension or repositioning mounting brackets.
Applies To: Duette®, EasyView® Arch
If your shade does not close smoothly or fully, there are two areas you can check: the cord tension and the bracket placement. Try the cord adjustment first, then reposition the brackets if needed.
Check and Adjust Cord Tension
- Inspect the lift cords going through the top cord guide.
- If the cords appear twisted or out of alignment, gently move the cord guide to realign the cords.
- Check cord tension by gently pulling on the arch handle.
- If the cords feel too loose or too tight, pull the cord and ferrule out of the pocket in the arch handle.
- Slide more or less cord through the ferrule until the tension feels correct.
- Push the ferrule back into the handle to secure it.
Caution: Do not cut the excess cord until you are certain the shade operates correctly.
Reposition Brackets for Handle Clearance
- If the arch does not close fully, inspect the location of the left and right mounting brackets.
- Confirm that the brackets are close enough to the ends of the bottom rail to allow the handle to slide completely to both sides.
- If the handle cannot move far enough to align with the cord routes, remove the shade from the window.
- Move the left and right brackets closer to the ends of the headrail.
- Reinstall the shade and test the closure again.
